Good Afternoon Middle School Parents,
This is your reminder that Middle School Awards Night and 8th Grade Promotion is on the calendar for Wednesday May 17th at 7:00 p.m. in the new gym. We hope to see you all there!
Sports physicals will be Monday, May 15th. Bring your signed physical form and $25 to have your sports physical done at school. The impact baseline test will take place that afternoon for 6th grade, 8th grade, and 10th grades.
State Track Qualifiers
CALENDAR UPDATE: Monday, May 8th will be a 10:00 a.m. Late Start for Staff Appreciation. Busses will run accordingly. No breakfast will be served.
If your student sold items for the music fundraiser, please pick up those items at the fitness center entrance tomorrow, May 3rd from 3:30-5:30. There are a lot of frozen food items so you will need to make arrangements to pick them up and then deliver or store.
This is a reminder that your junior high student will be taking the State NSCAS test over the next few days. Please make sure your child gets plenty of rest and is ready to do their best! Go TITANS!!!
The 6-12 Music Awards Night is Tonight, Monday May 1st at 6:00 PM. Please arrive by 5:45 and wear nice dress clothes.

Congratulations! The middle school students celebrated reaching their goal of 160 Titan Tickets in the 3rd quarter with Soda Floats. Big Thank you to our Middle School Student PBIS leadership team, HTRS staff, and all that helped make this event a success!
On April 20th the music students of HTRS High School attended District Music Contest at the Johnson County Central host site. Students left the school early in the morning to support the Jr./Sr. High Jazz Band. While the junior high members made their way to a track meet the High School Concert Choir performed, followed by the High School Concert Band. Instrumental judges for the day were Mark Benson (adjunct professor of music at Peru State college and director of the Peru State Jazz Band), Sandy Murphy (Instrumental educator at Palmyra Public Schools), and Greg Olsen (Band director at Nebraska City High School). Choir judicators included Fred Ritter (retired vocal music educator for Columbus Public Schools and past president of the Nebraska Music Educators Association), Mark Harman (Director of choral activities at Fremont High school and director of Sing Omaha's Boy Choir) and Kelly Meyer (Beatrice High School vocal music instructor). Those students not participating in small group and individual performances returned to school first while the rest took part in solo and duet performances.

A big congratulations to Jakob Manning for receiving the Outstanding Performance Award for his tuba solo. One of these awards is given by each judge per small group performance room. Jake was chosen from several students attending Contest from 7 different schools (Freeman, HTRS, Lewiston, Pawnee City, Sterling, Weeping Water, and JCC) who competed in the same room as himself.

The varsity track meet at Pawnee City scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, April 25th has been cancelled.
Tomorrows track meet has been postponed until Monday April 24th due to weather. Because of this change awards night will begin at 7:00 p.m.
The JH Jazz Band and HS Music students will be attending the District Music Contest In Tecumseh at JCC Schools tomorrow, April 20. Please come support the HTRS Music students.
The Bingo for Books event is this evening from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Please join us in the commons area to win prizes, have some yummy refreshments, and hear all about our Title 1 program. All are welcome!

The Middle School students had a fun evening at Bowldog Alley today.
The junior high Mudecas meet scheduled for tomorrow has been moved to Monday, April 17th due to forecasted poor weather. Field events will begin at 9:00 a.m. The bus will leave from Humboldt at 7:15 a.m.
