Carol Shaw established this musical tradition with HTRS Public School in 2014,  to “pay it forward” and honor her husband, Ron Shaw who is a Humboldt High School graduate from the Class of 1959, for his musical background and who loves music!

Carol established a monetary award to be given to an HTRS senior/seniors who has contributed and demonstrated outstanding support and participation in the music program during their high school years.  They wanted this award to celebrate the joy music brings.  As they stated, “This world needs more joy!”

The presentation of instruments and monetary award recipients were chosen by the Musical teaching staff at HTRS.

The HTRS Public Schools Foundation would like to announce the recipients of the Ron Shaw Music Awards for 2022.

On April 28, 2022, at the HTRS Music concert, Mrs. Sarah Volker announced the 2022 Ron Shaw Music Award to seniors Alyssa Howe and Ellie Schaardt. and the Ron Shaw Musical Instruments Award to the HTRS middle school students Avalyie Lamb- clarinet and Greyson Sherman - saxophone.

The HTRS Public Schools Foundation and the HTRS School wish to Thank Ron & Carol Shaw for their generous annual donation to the HTRS School music program. It is greatly appreciated.
