Rather than exchanging gifts in class this Christmas, the children decided that they would rather help others. I asked the children to come up with some ideas about ways we could help. The children decided that they would like to donate money to Children’s Hospital and Medical Center in Omaha. Each day in December, the children brought money to class to be donated. Our goal was to raise $100. Before we left for Christmas break, the students and I had collected over $250. I am very proud of the students and their willingness to help make someone else’s holiday brighter.
